Cox launches Wi-Fi hotspots in Virginia

Cox Communications, a cable television provider, has announced the establishment of a Wi-Fi network throughout Fairfax County and Fairfax city, Virginia.

The cable company had moved in 2010 into an agreement with Sprint Nextel to provide roaming cellular services but ended that venture in 2012. This new service will enable customers to connect up to ten devices per account at download speeds of up to 15 megabits per second.
