Microsoft, more well-known for its operating systems and accompanying software suites, has been steadily expanding into the market of big data via Bing and other services. Now, the technology giant is taking steps to promote its big data plans even more publicly. Dave Campbell, a high-ranking VP, explained that data sets and analytic models are just two of the offerings Microsoft aims to expand.
Information, to Mr. Campbell, can be more efficiently utilized when it’s more efficiently processed. Both scientific laboratories and commonplace business are expected to benefit from Microsoft’s increased development in the future.
