The cost-cutting and consolidations of the past few years due to the recession and sluggish recovery need to be done away with, according to industry expert Michelle Bailey. Bailey, a VP at a leading research firm, suggests that industry leaders need to re-focus their attention to building broader customer bases, seeking innovative practices, and looking toward long-term growth. When asked about what would best serve CIOs in the IT sector, Bailey noted that customer satisfaction and long-term strategic business planning – three to five years – should be key items IT business leaders spend their time on.
