Don’t Be Fooled by Ads Disguised as News

Advertising companies are increasingly blurring the lines between advertising and news. Some magazines or online sites host articles that appear to be news, but are in fact cleverly hidden advertisement for products by embedding the ad within the content of the article with little or no disclosure that the ad is paid content. The FTC is going to be discussing this issue later in the year.
