New initiative looks to create more data scientists

Funding from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation are going to a new academic initiative that is going to try to help create more data scientists. The project has been awarded $37.8 million dollars to reach that goal with three universities being chosen for the project. The universities that will be involved in the project are New York University, the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Washington.
